2009 BUILDINGS & GROUNDS IMPROVEMENTS

MIDWAY PAVILION & STAGE

A large, permanent structure with a stage is being constructed for use by the Queen Contest and other midway entertainment during the fair. In addition, plans are to utilize this area for non-fair events and functions.
This replaces a small stage located across from the Arts & Crafts Building that included a tent covered seating area during the fair.
In June of 2008 the fair board applied with the PA Department of Agriculture for this project. In August the capital improvement project was approved for funding by the Fair Fund Advisory Board. Several state legislators, Senator John Gordner and Representative Sue Helms, were instrumental in acquiring this and additional funding for the project.
Work began in early June of 2009 and the midway pavilion/stage will be available for the 2009 fair. Several photos are shown below of the progress to date.
State funding cutbacks have prompted us to seek tax deductible contributions to complete the midway pavilion/stage. Contributions will initially be used for a concrete floor, to be in place for the 2009 fair, followed by a retaining wall next spring. Each sponsor of $1,000, or more, will receive a personalized sign that will hang in the Midway Pavilion area. Click HERE for further details.
