2008 BUILDINGS & GROUNDS IMPROVEMENTS

AGRICULTURAL HALL

Due to an ever expanding need for exhibit space in Agricultural Hall, the fair board approved/applied in June of 2007 for a building expansion with the PA Department of Agriculture. In August the capital improvement project was approved for funding by the Fair Fund Advisory Board. Several state legislators (L to R - Rep. Sue Helms, Bruce Koppenhaver & Georgine Wert - president & treasurer of the fair, and Sen. John Gordner) were present at the check presentation ceremony during the 2007 fair.
Work began in the spring of 2008 on the expansion with completion expected prior to the 2008 fair. Several photos of the exterior are shown below with interior photos soon.

MEMORIAL HALL

In addition, an overhead door has been placed in Memorial Hall. Accommodation of large winter storage units has always been an issue due to the lack of height at the entrance. Smaller units are being moved to Commercial Building #2 to make room for larger units.

LOADING/UNLOADING DOCK

The loading/unloading dock in the livestock area was in disrepair. Paxton Precast of Dalmatia was contracted to construct a "new" retaining wall. It's purpose is for the loading/unloading of equipment and livestock plus manure disposal. Below are a number of photos of the construction. Left photo - construction is being observed by board members, Ernest & Haven.
